Mark me down for the hate side.

But they supply more O2 to the roots?

This action of run through has a name. The Umbrella Effect.

When testing these pots before they were first released. I told the makers they were crap for that reason. Increased feeding costs more. Throwing away money is not in my game plan.
I got wondering if the center of that really dense root ball even got moisture. I watered like normal, a plant to be harvested that mourning. Once harvested, I cut the root ball in half, and guess what?
The center core of that root ball was dry as a bone.

Fabric pots – LOL
You either love them or hate them.

The root ball gets very dense at the center of the media. It leaves an area of un-used soil around the root ball. You water/feed and the water/feed simply hits the root ball and runs past it and out the sides and bottom.
Some does get absorbed into the root ball but, you have to use more water/feed to complete the job. If you pour the run off back through. Your’ll soon learn why you don’t do that!
